On International Women’s Day, Dress for Success Scotland (DFSS) will be celebrating the women they support, as well as the work they do by announcing TV presenter and journalist Jean Johansson and broadcaster and PR Heather Suttie as ambassadors. They join Scarlett Johansson, the Dress for Success Worldwide Ambassador, as advocates for the charity.
Dress for Success (DFS) is a global not-for-profit organisation. Since opening in 1997 the charity has expanded to 143 cities in 23 countries and has helped more than 1.3 million women work towards self-sufficiency.
DFSS is based in Glasgow – the only DFS affiliate operating in Scotland. They support women in work and life by providing a free personal styling experiencein a safe setting, with access to confidence-boosting programmes tailored to individual needs. Working with partners including Remploy, Tomorrow’s Women and Barnardo’s, they are focused on helping women achieve economic independence.
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) is #EmbraceEquity, and DFSS is proud to support the initiative by shining a light on the women they support and the partners they work with.
Suttie commented: “I’m delighted to join Dress for Success Scotland as an Ambassador. The work the charity does, with their partners, to help women achieve economic independence is inspiring. I’m looking forward to supporting the team as they build the service over the coming months.”
And Jean Johansson added: “When I was asked to become an Ambassador for Dress for Success Scotland I didn’t hesitate to say yes. They are a fantastic group of women helping other women build strong and successful lives.”
