Sue Mobbs Art Studio to take part in this year’s Maker’s Festival

Sue Mobbs Art Studio has confirmed it will be taking part in Norfolk’s annual Maker’s Festival. The event, which is running for nine days from 11th to 19th of March, is available to anyone, irrespective of their artistic abilities. Held at the Forum, Sue Mobbs Art Studio will host a free painting activity called Pick up a Paintbrush from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th.

Sue Mobbs is a mixed-media artist who creates impressions, expressions and abstract paintings using different styles and techniques. Speaking about the event, Mobbs said: “Pick up a Paintbrush is an invitation for everyone to have a go at painting. Whether you’re a beginner or have dabbled for years, this provides you with an opportunity to let your creative spirit run free. Not only is it fun, but it’s great for your wellbeing as well. Plus, I’ll be there to offer hands-on advice and help, so come along and get creative with me!”

Former participant Sue Blackwell added: “The pleasure of painting together in a group, trying out new techniques and getting encouragement from Sue is wonderful, and it’s always a pleasure when things turn out better than you expect.”

The event is part of Norfolk’s annual Maker’s Festival, which aims to bring together local crafters and artists – both amateur and professional – to celebrate artistic collaboration, personal expression and creativity. Other interests covered at the event include sewing, sketching, printing, quilting, cake making, wood crafting and more.

Sue Mobbs Art Studio will also host two art workshops on 11th and 17th March, from 10am to 12pm. These ticketed events are for intermediate creators looking to improve their acrylic and watercolour painting skills. Tickets cost £20, with all materials included.

As well as art workshops, visitors can enjoy demonstrations, talks and open exhibitions. Visit the Norfolk Maker’s Festival website for more information.
