Döner Shack kicks off 2023 with two new multi-unit franchisees

Döner Shack, the Berlin-inspired street-food concept, continues to experience tremendous growth with the addition of two new multi-unit franchise partners, Bobby Sidhu and Omar Chagani. The UK’s leading fast-casual franchise brand will be boosting its presence across the UK with 20 new stores across the West Midlands and London over the next three years.

London-based franchisee Omar Chagani will open ten new sites across North West London, making his debut this summer. An existing coffee and fast-food franchisee, Omar is now ready to add to his existing portfolio with the unique dining concept, Döner Shack.

“Döner Shack is in an exciting space serving a fantastic range of products with the convenience and speed that customers now expect,” commented Omar. “The brand is becoming a major player in the food industry and is pioneering in its technology and innovation both in the kitchen with its robotic cutters and in being able to deliver a seamless and efficient experience to its customers. After meeting Sanjeev and the team and hearing about their vision for the future growth of the brand, I knew that I wanted to be part of this exciting new fast-casual experience. With their ambitious plans, I see lots of growth opportunities across London and aim to rapidly expand over the next few years.”

Bobby Sidhu has also recently joined the Döner Shack family and will be opening ten new restaurants across the West Midlands, with the first launching over the summer. Already with over 20 years of experience in franchising, Bobby has been running a network of globally recognised coffee and food franchise brands and was looking for a new opportunity to expand his portfolio in the food sector.

Bobby added: “I have been really impressed with Döner Shack’s attention to detail and razor-sharp focus on doing things right – to drive consistency and scalability of a system with product quality and customer experience at its core. The brand is the perfect blend of professionalism and development that I am accustomed to with international brands, but with the passion and drive of a smaller brand with global ambitions. Having visited the other sites in Leicester, Manchester and Glasgow, I can see how the investment is culminating in some great, fresh-looking restaurants that sit comfortably next to well-known lifestyle brands and tasty food that leaves you craving your next visit. Quality and customer service are a number one priority for me, and Döner Shack certainly has both of these in abundance.”

Döner Shack’s co-founder and managing director, Sanjeev Sanghera said: “Our network of multi-unit franchise partners is quickly gaining an impressive reputation as one of the leading franchise brands in the fast-casual restaurant sector. With the arrival of Omar and Bobby, we are now in a strong position to reach our target and become the number one kebab franchise brand in the UK. They are both extremely hungry to scale up their businesses and aim to open between them a score of new outlets by 2026, while creating hundreds of jobs for the local communities.”

A franchisor with four units operating in Leeds, Manchester, Leicester, Glasgow and London next month, Döner Shack has become a leading fast-casual franchise brand since launching in 2019 in Leeds. Following the success of these sites, the brand has plans to open 150 restaurants in the UK over the next five years and establish a presence in the USA, Canada, Europe and the Middle East in a similar timeframe.
